Dear Museums people, This message is especially for those who are attending the Museums Australia conference in Newcastle shortly. I'd like to introduce Prappasorn Posrithong who has worked for many years with the Thai Department of Fine Arts and has been Director of a number of nationally funded museums. She is visiting as a keynote speaker for the conference in Newcastle generously supported by ICOM Australia. She will be talking about her main interest outside of the nations museums which informs her inclusive museums practice. It is working with local communities on the preservation of traditional silk weaving techniques where she has had some remarkable success. See:- http://www.thaiasiatoday.com/life-in-thailand/community/praewa-silk-renewal-project-retraces-silk-weavers-roots.html If anyone is interested in meeting her for discussions while she is here please let me know.
