I have been trying to find if there are any McComas water lifters still in existence and the Melbourne Museum suggested I try your list. The McComas water lifter was invented in the 1860s by John Wesley McComas and manufactured in Melbourne The 1880s Victoria and its metropolis: past and present (pp611-2) has a detailed article on McComas and Co and says that after 20 years of manufacturing there were some 6000 water lifters around. I'd appreciate any help in tracking one down. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
