COLLECTIONS AUSTRALIA NETWORK Australian cultural heritage collections online

Like Roy Arnott recently, I am looking for a software application for our very new and quite small (but hopefully growing) school archive.
Roy reported he'd had a good response and I'm hoping members of the list will be kind enough to help me too. Currently I am investigating FileMaker Pro.
We have an extensive photo collection and I also need to find out how best to catalogue these (as well as being able to retrieve them).
Being an inexperienced novice, I'd appreciate any help.
