[can-talk] Collections-sector people at the Australia 2020 Summit

Dear colleagues,

 

The list of all 1000 participants invited to attend the Australia 2020
Summit, to be held on 19 and 20 April, was released on 28 March; see:

I've noticed a number of people in the list who have very close connections
with the collections sector. Let's acknowledge this, and congratulate them
all.

 

The collections sector is well represented, including:

Sue Nattrass (Chair, Collections Council of Australia) 

Martin Nakata (past Director, Collections Council of Australia)

Larissa Behrendt (past Director, Collections Council of Australia)

Peter Goldsworthy (Libraries Board of South Australia)

Ron Radford (National Gallery of Australia)

Brenda Croft (National Gallery of Australia)

Hetti Perkins (Art Gallery of NSW)

Elizabeth Ann Macgregor (Museum of Contemporary Art)

Anna Malgorzewicz (Museums and Art Galleries of the Northern Territory)

Frank Howarth (Australian Museum)

Scott Hucknull (Queensland Museum)

Tim Flannery (formerly of the South Australian Museum)

 

The above names have jumped out at me during a first scan of the list. My
apologies if I have missed anyone from the collections sector - please alert
this list if so!

 

There are also several visual artists, plus philanthropists and arts
administrators, and at least three of the current Directors of CHASS, the
Council for Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. Lots of famous names and
eminent people!  

 

Congratulations to all the participants, and best wishes for the intense
discussions that lie ahead.

 

It's not too late for the rest of us to prepare submissions to be considered
by the Summit participants, but views must be lodged by 9 April; see:
