We have used the expertise and enthusiasm of our local film society to hire and organise showings of films in this gallery. Sometimes we have also shown new films made by local film-makers - also very popular. We've also been a venue for the wonderfully zany 15/15 Film Festival.

Subject: [can-talk] Hire of current release movies

  Hi All,

  While I realise this isn't strictly a museum-y question I'm hoping someone
  can give me some help.

One of the fundraising suggestions that has recently come up in discussions
for the museum is doing outdoor movies during summer. Someone suggested
looking into the hire of movies that aren't on DVD yet - new releases or
ones that have just finished in the cinemas. I've tried doing various
google searches to see where and how I can go about getting such movies and
the potential hire price, but can't find anything.

Before I move further on this suggestion i really need more information -
can any one help? have you done something similar, do you know how much it
costs and who to hire them from?

  Thanks,

  Bronwyn
