Thank you Merle; I have read your comments over the years and enjoyed
them. I agree with your remarks on this subject. It's great to connect
and converse on a human level. And if it's a day that's too busy (or
serious!)to respond or engage with museum chat, it's pretty easy to pass
it by and delete.

Over the past couple of years I have tried to respond to various
comments by others - sometimes a bit tongue in cheek - like suggesting
we needed elastic walls for growing collections & display needs (& of
course there are actually wall systems that do this).

And  my comment yesterday originally was blocked.

My point is that even though I feel swamped by the ever-growing demands
of "paperwork" - reporting etc, it is great to have a "conversation"
with colleagues in a wide variety of museums across the country
(including the doily and machinery ones!). I like to see those queries,
(& will follow this with one of my own) but a little chatter is good
too. It's human.
