[can-talk] Security Cameras

Just a quick warning on security camera systems- we have had a variety
of cameras around the building (admittedly not inside - we use dummies)
but one thing that I have learned is that the 360 degree cameras are a
complete waste of money. While you can program a series of directions
that you want the camera to look at in sequence, the real problem is
that the camera is never looking in the right direction when any illegal
activity is occuring - and because it moves on in a pre-arranged
sequence - even if it catches the activity it doesn't stay long enough
to catch all the aspects of the activity. We have had three illegal
acts occur in our carpark in the last three years and every time the
camera was looking the wrong way!

We have found fixed cameras are a much better option - the trick is
identifying exactly what direction you need captured and positioning
your cameras accordingly.

Good luck!
