[can-talk] Seeking female display mannequin for exhibition late NOV 07 - MAR 08

Dear Members,

I am looking to loan a female display mannequin (free-standing if at all
possible) for an exhibition here at the Victorian Archives Centre, North
Melbourne from late NOV 2007 to March 2008. The exhibition space is
environmentally controlled with 24 hour security.

 I need the mannequin to display the following 3 piece outfit as part of an
exhibition entitled 'Victorians at Work'

'Yellow three piece, a micro mini length dress and a waist length jacket.
The dress is A-line with round neck and short sleeves and has two patch
pockets with turned down flap on the skirt front. The jacket is tightly
fitting and belted in at the waist with a button down band that fits
through a ring at the centre front.  It has three buttons down the front
and a wide band is sewn down front and around the neck to give a V
neckline. This outfit was worn with a yellow cap designed like a schoolboy
cap with flaps at sides buttoned on top. There is a black enamel S.S.B.
badge on the front of the cap. Fabric throughout is a nylon backed acrylic
knit.

The three piece was specially designed for the 1970 Melbourne Show and was
worn by a team of seven girls who sold more than 21,700 show bags at the
S.S.B. stand.  The outfit was completed by knee high black crushed patent
leather boots.  The same outfit was used again in 1971.

I have measured the 3 piece while flat:

32cm waist for dress

34cm across bust for jacket

15cm diameter for  cap

We think the outfit is probably a size 6 or 8

I have no money to cover a loan fee but I am more than happy to give you a
nice big credit line on the exhibition label.
