JAY KATZ AND MISS DEATH JOIN FANTASTIC CONFERENCE LINE-UP 


Jay Katz aka Jaimie Leonarder and his wife Aspasia aka Miss Death have been confirmed as keynote speakers for the BUILDINGS BLOCKS Conference. Jaimie has been involved in underground artistic ventures for well over twenty five years. Performer, diversional therapist, broadcaster, street worker, nightclub impresario, archivist and champion of outsider culture - these descriptions only touch on the diversity of Jaimie Leonarder's life so far. He and his wife Aspasia aka Miss Death are devotees of independent cinema and they both have an affinity to young people and their creative needs. Due to his enthusiasm for film Jaimie was cast as one of the new hosts for the SBS Movie Show when the chairs were vacated by David and Margaret. Scouring the globe for the forgotten, cast aside, lost and neglected fringes of culture (just like many heritage interpreters), they run a go-go club once a month called Sounds of Seduction, do screenings at the Chauvel cinema, a radio show once a week on FBi radio called The Naked City plus so much more that they can't be bothered to list. 


CONFERENCE AUCTION


In keeping with past tradition, the BUILDING BLOCKS Conference will host an auction to raise funds for conference bursaries. Please bring along something (from your organisation or otherwise) that can be sold at the auction - such as a book, hat, poster, t-shirt, heritage item etc. This year's volunteer auctioneers James Manser and Catherine Gledhill from the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority have promised to make the 2007 auction a fun and entertaining break in the official proceedings and a chance for you to pick up some spectacular bargains!
