Hi Everyone,

Some months ago the National Trust of Australia (Western Australia)
announced on CAN that it was disposing of items, and inviting
institutions to register to obtain them. I registered and "bid" 
(although there was no dollar cost) for items for two collections where
I am working, and these have just arrived. In both cases the volunteers
were entranced with the items received, but it also illustrated for them
the appropriate way to deaccession unwanted items in collections.

So it has been a wonderful exercise, and I just wanted to acknowledge
the National Trust here, for their generosity in handing them to other
collections, and to CAN for providing the means by which this was made
known to us.
