[can-talk] Outreach programs for newer citizens in large urban centres

Can anyone suggest a good example of a heritage or environmental
community *outreach* programme developed for newer citizens in a large
urban centre?

I've found some great programs by urban parks and downtown botanical
gardens working with local community groups but not many instituted by
larger heritage sites, nature centres, or federal/ provincial/ state/
county park systems that exist predominantly OUTSIDE the urban centre.

One Canadian example of what I'm looking for is the "Multicultural
Environmental Stewardship Program" developed by the Toronto Region
Conservation Authority (TRCA). See

Of course, recommendations for any good research or reading on this
topic also appreciated!

As always, happy to make available to the list a compilation of
responses.

Look forward to hearing from you!
