March 14, 2007 Can anyone suggest a good example of a heritage or environmental community *outreach* programme developed for newer citizens in a large urban centre? I've found some great programs by urban parks and downtown botanical gardens working with local community groups but not many instituted by larger heritage sites, nature centres, or federal/ provincial/ state/ county park systems that exist predominantly OUTSIDE the urban centre. One Canadian example of what I'm looking for is the "Multicultural Environmental Stewardship Program" developed by the Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Look forward to hearing from you! Chris M. Christine Castle, Ph.D. Consultant and Educator Hamilton, Ontario, Canada T: 905-521-4847 chris at mccastle.com |
