Nobel Voices and Nobel collection at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History Dr. Gardner will discuss the Smithsonian's Nobel collections, linking them to the exhibition “Invention at Play” and the Smithsonian's diverse collections, ranging from scientific, medical, and technological innovations to artistic creativity and the reinvention of daily life. His illustrated talk will take a broad look at innovation and creativity from the perspective of an American museum. Dr James Gardner is Associate Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History's Office of Curatorial Affairs and a specialist in 20th c. U.S. history, and museums and public history.
