It will provide an opportunity to engage in critical debate around a range of issues while also encouraging dialogue between galleries. Featuring keynote presentations, panel discussions, gallery tours and studio visits, and a facilitated workshop along with dinner with leading and emerging contemporary artists, this event aims to be a significant convention for both senior and emerging curators across the sector. National Exhibitions Touring Support (NETS) Victoria is committed to presenting an annual symposium for emerging and established curators working across Australia. According to feedback, there is a gap in the visual arts sector for curators to network with regional and interstate colleagues and to engage in relevant discussion and debate. NETS Victoria has recognised this need and this two day event will mark the launch of an annual symposium, and much needed forum, for curators and artsworkers. We are very excited to bring you an ambitious program of events that will be delivered by a wide-ranging group of established and emerging curators, artists, academics and dynamic thinkers. We hope you will be able to join us at the 2007 NETS Victoria symposium and participate in the vigorous conversations and debates that will unfold over the course of this special two day event. NETS Victoria is extremely grateful for the generous support of the Ian Potter Museum of Art, Art Gallery Guide Australia, the Public Galleries Association of Victoria, Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces, Arts Victoria, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Australia Council and Glenmaggie Wines who have enabled us to bring you this major event. www.netsvictoria.org/2007symposium <outbind://114/www.netsvictoria.org/2007symposium> REGISTRATIONS CLOSE: Wednesday 20 June (5:00pm) and pre-payment is required.
