We installed a lovely new system last year and couldn't be happier. Most of our OH&S problems solved and it saves us lots of time.
Superclamp System from Arcus Art Gallery Products, PO Box 833, Morningside, QLD 4170

This has easily adjustable clamps with hooks on twisted wire which clips over a hanging rail. Very easy for one person to adjust the height and the hook can be placed at the approx height before lifting the artwork. However, it was expensive - $6,500 for the whole gallery. Fortunately Arts Victoria provided a grant for the upgrade of our hanging and lighting.

Our aim here has always been to avoid damaging the walls - hence no need to patch and paint between shows. (We do one-day changeovers). So, prior to this we had a home made system which worked reasonably well if you are not changing the works too often. This was transparent Whipper Snipper cord fastened to a rail clip at the top and to the D ring on the artwork by using an electrical connector. (The latter can have its outer plastic fitting removed to leave just a simple brass fixture.

  Exhibition hanging system

  Hi,

I am trying to track an affordable track hanging system for a temporary
exhibition space we are developing at Port Arthur, does anyone know of a
good system or supplier on the mainland who I could chase for a quote.
We just need to purchase the track, drops and hook as our works crew can
  do all our instillation work.

Thank you in advance for any assistance,

  Kind Regards

  Sarah
