M&G NSW GALLERY AND MUSEUM MENTORSHIP PROGRAM - APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

 

The M&G NSW Mentorship Program provides an exciting opportunity for paid
staff from regional and remote museums and galleries in NSW to access
expertise and programs in state/national cultural institutions for the
purpose of professional development. 

 

In 2008 a range of placements will be targeted at museum and gallery
professionals respectively.

 

The program provides professional staff with an opportunity to extend
their knowledge, enhance their skill levels and increase their
networking base through access to the resources and staff of larger
cultural institutions.  

 

The Mentorships are appropriate for mid-level or emerging museum and
gallery personnel and are generously funded by Arts NSW.

 

GALLERY MENTORSHIP

 

*        Curatorial Practice Mentorship ($2000)

Host: Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre

Focus: Contemporary curatorial practice and accessing local content for
exhibition and project development.

Eligibly: Full/part time paid gallery staff.

Applications close: Monday, 28 April 2008.

 

MUSEUM MENTORSHIPS 

 

*        Museum Marketing Mentorship (up to $3,000)

Host: Historic Houses Trust of NSW

Focus: Branding and marketing of museums and public museum projects

Eligibly: Full/part time paid museum staff.

Applications close: Monday, 28 April 2008.

 

*        Open Museum Mentorship (up to $3,000)

Host: Your choice: Applicant to nominate a host venue in NSW

Focus: Your choice: Have you got a field of professional practice that
you would like to focus on with assistance from an appropriate host
venue? This mentorship placement allows you to choose your mentorship
focus and venue in consultation with M&GNSW.

Eligibly: Full/part time paid museum staff.

Applications close: Monday, 28 April 2008.
