Working with Collections - Training Opportunity- Brisbane, QLD

Does your museum, gallery, library, keeping place or historical society need
assistance making sound judgements and good decisions about collecting,
conserving, interpreting and managing objects and collections, now and into
the future?

Are you a volunteer worker, registrar, curator, conservator, educator,
exhibition or public program designer responsible for communicating or
interpreting the significance of objects and collections within your
organisation and to the public? Are you responsible for collections
research? For creating and/or implementing a Collection Management Policy?
A Preservation Plan? A Disaster Preparedness Plan? Would you like to learn
how the concepts of Significance Assessment and Preventive Conservation can
assist you to plan for the current and future needs of your collection?

Would you like a first hand account, from a volunteer museum worker, on
their experience with undertaking object research and developing statements
of significance for their own museum?

M&GSQ, in partnership with Brisbane's Living Heritage Network, will be
delivering workshops on Significance Assessment, and Preventive Conservation
on the following dates:

28 October - Part 1: Significance Assessment
11 November - Part 2: Significance Assessment

Facilitated by Kylie Winkworth, a museum and heritage consultant working
with both heritage collections and places.

29 October - Part 1: Preventive Conservation
12 November - Part 2: Preventive Conservation
Facilitated by Christine Ianna, Conservator and accredited Workplace Trainer
& Assessor.
