The Robert O'Hara Burke Museum located in Beechworth is seeking applications from qualified consultants to carry out a significance assessment of the building and collection. One of Australia's oldest museums, the Burke Museum in Beechworth is custodian of an estimated 20 - 30,000 individual items, many dating back to its establishment more than 150 years ago. The collection includes an extraordinary range of heritage material including a number of painting by Eugene Von Guerard, Robert O'Hara Burke's bible and an Aboriginal Collection that has been recognised as "one of the finest collections of South Eastern Australian aboriginal artefacts in Australia". Applications should reach the Beechworth Historic Precinct Co-ordinator no later than Tuesday 22nd July and include the following documents: 1. Quote for the work to be carried out. 2. Copies of references from previous employers. 3. A detailed outline of the timeline required to complete this assessment.
