INTERPRETATION MANAGER (Vacancy No. 010708)
Full-time permanent
Closing Date: Friday 18 July 2008 / Location: Port Arthur, Tasmania
 
Duties involve the planning, development, monitoring and delivery of the
interpretation program and overseeing the collections and education
programs for the Authority. Working within a conservation management
team, the role aims to ensure that the cultural heritage values of the
Port Arthur Historic Site and Coal Mines Historic Site are maintained
and protected. The role will entail the provision of high quality
strategic advice on interpretation, collections and education issues,
including the effects of tourism and related activities. 
 
Desirable Qualifications: Degree in history, archaeology or a related
cultural heritage discipline or equivalent qualifications acceptable to
the Authority; Post graduate qualification in a relevant cultural
heritage conservation discipline; Post graduate experience in the field
of interpretation; Compliance with criteria for membership of a relevant
heritage organisation (such as Australia ICOMOS).
