Museum of Australia.
 

Coordinator Audience Development and Public Programs
APS 4 Non-ongoing until approximately 30 June 2008 (with the
possibility of becoming ongoing)
Salary from $50,249 to $53,716 per annum plus superannuation.
 
Role
The Audience Development and Public Programs section provides
integrated audience research, public programming, event management and
evaluation expertise to plan, develop, deliver and continually improve
innovative interpretive programs at the Museum, throughout Australia,
and through technology-based outreach activities. These programs
encourage core and access audiences to engage with the Museum’s themes,
collections, research and exhibitions in a variety of ways.
The Audience Development and Public Programs Coordinator contributes to
the delivery of interpretive programs for a range of audiences; assists
with business planning and the development of programs; ensures that
information about public programs is communicated effectively to other
parts of the Museum; coordinates operational aspects of program
delivery; and monitors audience responses.
The Audience Development and Public Programs Coordinator ensures that
he/she has sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to
undertake his/her work safely and that employees are provided with
sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to enable them to
perform their duties safely.
This position requires work from time to time on week nights, weekends
and public holidays. It also involves some strenuous physical activity.
