Title Assistant Director, Audience Development and Public Programs Level/Status Executive Level 1 Non-ongoing for approximately 12 months Salary $76,223 to $ 82,321 per annum plus superannuation. Role Audience Development and Public Programs is a vital part of the Museum's interactions with audiences, enhancing and enriching the visitor experience through the delivery of innovative and creative programs that foster lifelong learning. The Audience Development and Public Programs section has established an enviable reputation as a leader in the development and delivery of innovative programs, especially in areas such as interpretation through performance, engaging activities for families and young children, and scholarly programs. The section works closely with the Curatorial, Education, Marketing, Media and Website sections to engage national audiences, a key strategic priority for the Museum. As Assistant Director, Audience Development and Public Programs you will:contribute to strategic planning for Audience Development and Public Programs, helping shape business unit strategic priorities and conducting research; provide executive level reporting on programs and projects; and manage, plan, develop, deliver and evaluate innovative and creative public programs for the Museum’s adult audiences. Under broad direction the Assistant Director will:support the development of innovative and creative programs and events for the Museum’s adult, family and access audiences; keep abreast of developments in other museums and cultural institutions, both in Australia and overseas, to assist the Museum to deliver programs that continue to build its reputation as an institution in the forefront of museological practice; undertake research relating to the Museum’s public programs in order to enrich the quality of their content and delivery; assist the Audience Development and Public Programs Directors to shape the ongoing strategic direction of the section; and contribute to the development and implementation of Museum-wide policies relating to public programs, audience development, education and learning, outreach, interpretation, etc. To Apply: To obtain a copy of the selection criteria, please visit our website www.nma.gov.au/recruit, email recruitment at nma.gov.au, or phone (02) 6208 5037.
