NAVA is looking for a motivated, efficient and highly organised  
person to become our new Administration & Membership Officer. This  
role will assist in the smooth running of the NAVA office including  
membership and commercial activities.

This position requires a methodical and logical person with strong  
attention to detail, rigorous work ethic and good knowledge of the  
visual arts and craft sector who has had experience in an office  
environment. It would suit someone wanting to pursue a career in arts  
administration.

Administration & Membership Officer

Salary: $33,000 pro rata (22.5 hours / 3 days a week)

Main areas of responsibility:
• Membership and resource management & sales
• Office administration & reception
• Processing financial transactions
• General administration tasks
• Assisting with NAVA grant schemes

Essential Skills:
• Orderly and efficient approach to administrative tasks and ability  
to multi-task
• Experience in managing text and data for websites.
• Familiarity with Macintosh environments
• High level of efficiency and attention to detail
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word and database packages
• Excellent comprehension skills
• Confidence in dealing with money and taking phone orders
• Good written and oral skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and phone manner and ability to  
deal tactfully with people
• Demonstrated ability to plan and manage work to meet tight  
deadlines.
• The ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part  
of a small team
• Knowledge of the contemporary Australian visual arts and craft  
sector

Desirable Skills:
• Experience with common office equipment such as photocopier,  
franking machine, printers
and phone systems
• Experience in ordering and managing office supplies
• Experience with operating a credit card merchant facility
• Experience with on-line banking and sales transactions
• Knowledge and experience in using database packages
• Experience in dealing with banks and managing petty cash
