NAVA is looking for a talented person to become our new part-time Web & Communications Officer. This position will be responsible for providing skilled writing, editing and content development services to NAVA for both the NAVA website and several NAVA publications. Please circulate through your networks. __________________________ Web & Communications Officer Applications Close: Friday, September 21, 2007 Employer/Organisation: National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) Web Site: www.visualarts.net.au Location: Australia - New South Wales - Sydney Salary: $38,000 pro rata (22.5 hours / 3 days per week) Main areas of responsibility: - Until early 2008 coordinating production of Money for Visual Artists, a NAVA publication - From early 2008 researching, writing, editing and uploading content for all sections of the NAVA website - The production of the NAVA Quarterly journal - Seeking and collating news, & writing and editing content for the fortnightly NAVA email bulletin Experience and skills required Essential: - Experience in writing, editing and publishing for hardcopy publications - Experience in researching, writing, editing and publishing for the web - Demonstrated ability to load content to web sites using a content management system and progress the authoring workflow - Basic understanding of web user interface and design issues - Knowledge of and experience in managing print production - Sound knowledge of contemporary Australian visual arts and craft/ design - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Research and information gathering skills - Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail - Ability to work efficiently both independently and cooperatively as part of a small team - Sound time management skills Desirable: - Experience with Dreamweaver, or other web design/publishing software - Project reporting skills and experience in managing budgets - Basic understanding of HTML and CSS More information: For more information contact Sam Wild, General Manager, on (02) 9368 1900 or email sam at visualarts.net.au Download a full position description on Visual Arts Net: http://www.visualarts.net.au/nava/volunteersemploymentinternships All applications must address the essential and desirable selection criteria.
