1.         Curator, Science and Life Gallery at Melbourne Museum 

*         Salary: $48,004 pro rata plus super

*         This vacancy is Full Time and Fixed Term for 6 Months (From
January 2008)

 Museum Victoria is creating a series of four exciting new science
exhibitions about Change - changing climates, changing landscapes,
changing life forms - using its extensive natural history collection and
an innovative approach to multimedia and interactive technologies. In
total these exhibitions form a 1600m2 redevelopment at Melbourne Museum
in Carlton Gardens, located in the Science & Life Gallery space. 

 

The curator is required to work as a member of the exhibition team to
research, develop and communicate scientific ideas for the general
public. Working closely with the Senior Curator, subject and collection
specialists, the curator will bring together information about images,
text/scripts and objects as required for the concept design phase of the
project.

 

We are seeking a person with experience and high level skills in both in
personal and written communication, a background in Biological Science,
Paleontology or Geology and proven ability to work with
multidisciplinary teams.

2.         Senior Exhibition Designer at Melbourne Museum 

*         Salary $59,428 pro rata plus super

*         This vacancy is Full Time and Fixed Term for 6 months (From
January 2008)

Museum Victoria is creating a series of four exciting new science
exhibitions about Change - changing climates, changing landscapes,
changing life forms - using its extensive natural history collection and
an innovative approach to multimedia and interactive technologies. In

The concept design phase for these projects is commencing from January.
An experienced Senior Exhibition Designer is required to work as a
member of the exhibition team to develop and communicate high level
design ideas, further resolving the content, objects and exhibition
experiences identified to date. Working closely with the Exhibition
Producer and existing senior design staff, the Senior Exhibition
Designer will be responsible for developing the concept design for two
of the four proposed exhibitions. 

 

We are seeking an experienced senior exhibition designer with museum
expertise, high level design skills, high level communication skills and
a proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
