[can-jobs] Brilliant Curator needed!

Sadly, after 18 years with us, our Curator Trevor Smith is moving on to lucky Portland.

So, we are seeking a brilliant person to manage our temp exhibitions & collections etc. The position is also Acting Director in my absence. See attached PD for details.

If you think Horsham is a long way, consider the positives - I live on the "edge of town" beside the lovely Wimmera River. I can cycle to work (6 minutes) or drive the 1 km (4 minutes) and go home for lunch. Our Council is supportive in the extreme, the arts community is close, creative, and very active, and the staff - what can I say? I think it's a pretty happy team where everyone is valued. The Grampians are 40 mins away and Mt Arapiles is even closer.

By the way, the gallery has a great collection - particularly in photography, but also quite good works on paper, paintings etc, and it's still growing. We totally upgraded the facilities some time ago, and we are one of the few Accredited Art Galleries in Victoria.
