Senior Conservation Officer - Interpretation QUEENSLAND PARKS AND WILDLIFE SERVICE Rockhampton, Queensland Salary: $57,273-$62,543 per annum, permanent Closing date: Monday, 16 April 2007 Vacancy reference number: EN985/07 The position focus over the next three years is on the presentation and communication programs related primarily to the Whitsunday islands and reef, an area of spectacular scenery and diversity. Key duties include * Plan, coordinate and deliver educational, interpretive and media plans, programs, products (signs, brochures, displays, web information, media releases and articles, etc.) and activities for the marine parks and islands in the region. * Liaise and consult with Agency staff, Traditional Owners and stakeholders in development of interpretive and communication programs and products to improve visitor management and visitor experiences to the marine park and islands within Central Region. Specific projects encompass * Interpretive development of the five major visitor sites of the Whitsunday area (Whitehaven Beach, Nara Inlet (Ngaro site), Hill Inlet, South Molle Island and Dugong-Sawmill camp and visit area, * Developing tourism and stakeholder information services program.
