*The Main Roads Heritage Centre * *Dirt, Dust and the Occasional Big Bang* To further raise public awareness and to celebrate great pride in its past, Main Roads is about to open the Main Roads Heritage Centre – a permanent public exhibition showcasing the story and culture of a department with a rich history. Revolving around the Department's message, "*Main Roads - Connecting Queensland*", the exhibition is presented in layers reminiscent of the processes involved in building roads and Queensland's road network. Connecting with different age groups, visitors can absorb information through various levels of information and methods of transfer. More complex concepts on the processes involved in road planning, construction and design is presented to adults and secondary students through texts, images and audio visual material, while primary and smaller children can 'experience' aspects relating to roads and road construction through a series of cartoon characters, hands-on interactive exercises along a children's trail and images. The Main Roads Heritage Centre aims to foster connections between generations by sparking memories and encouraging the sharing of experiences. Visitors will leave having had an interesting, stimulating and informative experience. *How to Get There?* Follow the signs to Toowoomba Airport; the Centre is located directly opposite the terminal car park. *Contact Details* Please contact the Heritage Centre for further details regarding open hours Phone: 07 4633 2506 Email: Heritage.Centre at mainroads.qld.gov.au ~~~~~~~~ Karen Barrett Main Roads Heritage Centre Muzte Street Toowoomba QLD 4350 PO Box 645 TOOWOOMBA QLD 4350 T: 07 4633 2506 F: 07 4633 2810 E: Heritage.Centre at mainroads.qld.gov.au -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
