Imagination, Books and Community in Medieval Europe
A conference at the State Library of Victoria
Thursday 29 - Saturday 31 May 2008

This international conference will feature the following keynote speakers:

- Alexandra Barratt, Professor of English, University of Waikato, New 
Zealand
- Jeffrey Hamburger, Kuno Francke Professor of German Art and Culture, 
Sackler Museum, Harvard University, USA
- Margaret Manion AO, Emeritus Professor, Art History, University of 
Melbourne, Australia
- James Marrow, Professor Emeritus, Art History, Princeton University, USA

Other papers will cover music and liturgy, devotion and saints, art and 
imagination, focussing on illuminated manuscripts from throughout Europe 
and the rich stories they tell about Medieval life.
