E.O. HOPPE'S AUSTRALIA Photographs by Emil Otto Hoppe Ground Floor & Level 2 May 8 - July 1, 2007 Customs House is currently showing an exhibition of photographs taken by Emil Otto Hoppe. German born Hoppe (b.1878) was one of London's leading portaiture photographers in his time and was an early pioneer in the genre of travel photography. He travelled to Australia in 1930 and captured an amazing document of the development of the young Australian nation. This exhibition will be a glimpse into this amazing body of work never before seen in Australia.
