Presented by the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for
Creative Industries and Innovation with the support of Museums &
Galleries NSW, Historic Houses Trust of New South Wales, Museum of
Sydney and Australian Museum.

 

What do managers, curators, archivists, librarians, technologists and
public program executives need to know about social media? This event
will introduce the major issues as well as demonstrate best practice and
state-of-the-art initiatives. 

Social media have swiftly risen from obscurity to become a hot topic of
cultural communication.

Wikipedia, YouTube and Flickr represent new, content-rich opportunities
for online interaction, and their rising popularity demonstrates their
appeal. 

Major libraries, museums and galleries worldwide are taking advantage of
these technologies to engage visitors and communities of interest in an
ongoing relationship.
