The NSW Guild of Craft Bookbinders invites binders to be involved in this year's Blake Poetry Prize, which is a new initiative linking art and literature, inspired by the work of William Blake.

The NSW Writers' Centre, with the Blake Society, Leichhardt Municipal Council and Wet Ink magazine is sponsoring a new national poetry prize, of $5000, on the theme of 'Bliss, blasphemy and belief'.

Selected bookbinders will bind one volume to create a complete record of poetry submissions. This set of books will be exhibited with the 2009 Blake Prize Touring Exhibition.

The book will be A4 single sheet bound, to be handled during exhibition.

The work is to be completed between 7 July and 21 August 2008.

The work shall remain the property of the NSW Writers' Centre.

Selection is by the Committee of the Guild of the NSW Guild of Craft Bookbinders; committee members are not eligible to register.

To register for selection, please complete the registration form at the Guild's website, and send cv and digital images (max 300 dpi, max 6) of three bookbinding examples from the last 2 years by 10 June 2008 to:
