Applications close at 5.00pm on Friday 28 March for State Library of Victoria Creative Fellowships. The Fellowships program this year includes the Georges Mora Foundation Fellowship for artists and the inaugural Joseph Brown AO Fellowship for art historians. Fellowships on offer include: State Library of Victoria Creative Fellowships The Library awards a number of Creative Fellowships annually to scholars, writers, composers and artists. They reflect the Library's commitment to original scholarship and creative endeavour, and promote the Library's rich resources. With the support of the State Library of Victoria Foundation, the Library awards Creative Fellowships annually. Up to eight Creative Fellowships are offered for periods of three, six and 12 months. Stipends ranging from $12,500 for three months to $50,000 for 12 months apply. Georges Mora Foundation Fellowship This six-month Fellowship offered by the Georges Mora Foundation supports practising Australian artists. It honours Georges Mora's contribution to the visual arts in Australia over a 40-year period. Dr Joseph Brown AO Fellowship This annual Fellowship offers one scholar a stipend for up to six months to study in the field of art history. It is named for Dr Joseph Brown AO, OBE, esteemed Australian art dealer, art collector and artist. Redmond Barry Fellowship The Redmond Barry Fellowship for scholars and writers is jointly sponsored by the University of Melbourne and the State Library of Victoria. It is named in honour of Sir Redmond Barry (1813-1880), a founder of both these institutions. La Trobe Society Fellowship The La Trobe Society in association with the Library offers one La Trobe Society Fellowship each year. The Society promotes recognition and understanding of the achievements of Charles Joseph La Trobe, one of the Library's key founders.
