Explore the Ex Libris exhibition
When books were rare and precious, the bookplate evolved as a creative and 
beautiful way of identifying the owner. Learn more about these petite and 
personal artworks at a series of free events.
Contemporary visual artist, Ron McBurnie will give a free talk about 
designing and printing bookplates. 
 
McBurnie’s quirky sense of humour and ability to see the world from a 
different perspective is reflected in his artwork which has a naïve 
realism that underplays its social commentary. He has been making prints 
and bookplates for over 20 years.
